front brake sensors 2006 LR3
is there a way to bypass the brake sensors on the front of my 2006 LR3??? The warning light came on yesterday and I will be replacing the pads tonight, but I am told you have to replace the sensors as well??? If so I would like to bypass them. Short the wire??? Help

I replaced the pads tonight. piece of cake The sensor was unusable, so I cut the wires and taped the the end so that they would not short. There constant warning light and "ding" everytime I step on the brakes stopped, but I still get a warning lamp that says BRAKES in red then turns yellow once car is started??? Does the dealer need to reset this? Is there a workaround to rest this lamp?

I have the same problem. Took it to the dealer today and asked him to check it out. Turns out I still have a decent amount of pad left and he didn't recommend changing the pads as I probably had another 2500 miles on them. I asked him to disconnect the sensor so it would stop dinging every 30 secs and I would it back in 2000 miles to have the breaks done. Lo and behold he said he can't do anything to stop it! Unbelievable! I wouldn't mind the light being on as long as the dinging stopped. How did you do yours? Is there only one sensor?
Thanks,
James

I know i can buy a new sensor, but I wouldn't put it in until i re-did the pads. The dealer said the existing pads were 4 32nds front and 5 32nds in the rear so they definately have wear left on them. So without replacing the pads and sensor i have to listen to this monotonous beeping every 30 seconds or so. i would be fine if just the light was on knowing that in 2k miles I need to re-do the brakes. What happens if I just unplug the sensor?
