You can install factory non-adative xenon lights. You have to replace the entire fixture. They are full enclosed units. A bit expensive from the dealer but you can find them from time to time on ebay for a decent price. If patient you can find some for less then $500

I found a set and they work fine.

There is also an after market kit but I don't think they are quite as nice as the factory.

trust me , dont give to much mind, if they are aftermarket or not!! put on some 4300k or 6000k hid bulbs, and theyll look the same as OEM.. you can find them like for 200 dollares or less.

i also wanted to switch the headlights from HALOGEN to HID and i was told that the wiring from the LR3 on the models that use the Xenon is not the same as the models that use the halogen therefore we have no choice but to install a conversion kit or redo all the wiring which tends to be very $$$$$!

Not true. I installed the factory xenons on my se it was straight plug and play. Only the adaptive bi-xenon would require wiring changes.
