They are VIN-locked...you need to be sure it can be registered to your vehicle.

Ironic possibly, I listed a Gap IID Tool for sale in the Wash DC area. This unit is completely VIN-Unlocked and unregistered. I upgraded to the LR3 model from being a long time Disco 2 owner, and as it came as a suprise to recieve a second Gap IID Tool device, I most certainly don't have a legitimate use for a second. If there is an enthusiast who wants to add this needed tool to their maintenance closet, I'd be glad to pay the opportunity forward. I'm quite sure my ad is the one you have referenced, feel free to contact me for any questions/discussions. I have began using my device about a month ago, and I could only wish they had this for the Disco 2's for all the challenges I encountered.
