Default Gear/T-case oil

Hello all,

i have been away for quite some time but I am back. All i can say is that Guatemala has definitely moved up to the top of my retirement home list. Anyway, lets get down to business. I recently changed the gear and t-case oils in my '07 SE V8 with around 130k miles. Last time they were replaced was when I purchased it with 94k miles. The reason I changed them was for a family road trip that will be about 4-4500 miles. From fayetteville to minnesota back to fayetteville down to tampa and then back fayetteville. Thank God for the comfy seats, ice cold a/c, bright lights, and awesome sound system that comes with a "newer" LR. So for the gear oil I chose Castrol Syntrax 75w-90 (black bottle) and for t-case i went with royal purple Synchromax. Let me say this, the car has not been this quiet since i bought, even when the fluids were changed at 94k miles (at the stealership no less). if anyone has any questions about either lubricant, feel free to send them. i have also noticed that my HWY MPG has shot up nearly 2mpg. Not bad for 2 hrs of work, which i enjoy doing with all my heart.

In addition, I am using RP 5w30 with RP filter with i bought on special from amazon. But I am thinking about switching to this for the next oil change. Click the link (full disclosure: I have no association with this company in any fashion.)

Welcome to Green Earth Technologies

Not only do they make motor oil but they also make a boatload of other products.

Let me know what you guys think. Until next time

- Adrian
