Thru my ongoing SAGA with my LR3 going into "Crash Mode" (flashers on, system shutdown, U codes etc) I attempted to remove the ECM to clean it up, major failure.
But in removing the Transfer Case Module I noticed this apparently spliced wire. When putting the Transfer Case Module back in, I noticed this wire actually ran up the loom that the cover for that area snugged into but exited the area to go to its connector, which would be pinched to go out of the cover from the loom to its connector.
have you swapped or sent your instrument panel off to get repaired? That's the usual cause of that particular problem.
Not yet. I replaced the original with a used one from a good parts supplier. Symptoms disappeared for about a week? Then had to leave the truck (was at Fort Carson with my Son). Then Symptoms reappeared and drove another truck to my son and drove the LR3 back.
I have removed and completely took apart the CJB and cleaned (replaced all fuses and relays), ohm'ed out everything at the ODB2 interface. Replaced battery, cleaned all ground points (none looked bad), replaced the main 400amp main fuse, of course changed out the sunroof drain above the CJB (old one was replaced before by previous owner as I inspected it when replacing it).
I was going to take the ECM out but couldn't get one stupid screw out.
I have another used Cluster I am going to reprogram into the truck tomorrow. I am not confident the third Cluster is going to work. I will probably send the original or second one out for repair in tandem.
Just noticed this wire really weirdly wired in and was wondering what it was.
well, I couldn't get one of the screws out so didn't remove the ECM so I didn't see a fan. Makes sense. If that little stupid fan went out and is causing the ECM to over heat all this time, I'm going to be pissed.
