Ummmm - the last year for the LR3 was 2009

Been LR4 since, with the Discovery 5 on the horizon. Rumor has it that it will be branded Discovery 5 and not LR5 on these shores.

Also, I think the Discovery Sport is the replacement for the LR2 - maybe not this model year, but I expect the LR2 to fade away.

Disco 3 was superseded by Disco 4 (LR4).

Yes. And then they just got confusing when they renamed Freelander 2 to LR2 for the NAS market....

so it goes D1, D2, LR3, LR4, D5 (maybe)

and Freelander, LR2, Discovery Sport.

I have heard "Discovery 5" in NA is confirmed from a reliable source. This article from a month ago discussed some of the new tech coming: Land Rover plans high-tech Discovery 5 for 2016 launch | Autocar

"Remote drive - Remote Drive could allow Discovery owners to empty the car of occupants and then automatically park the car in a space that would otherwise be too tight to allow the doors to be opened."

Hahaha. This would be really great in my garage. Of course, you could also use it to literally drive right up next to the driver door of that asshat that decides to take up two parking spaces because his car is so precious he doesn't want anybody sneezing on it.
