Hi all - our LR3 HSE bought a few months ago is my first non-German car.

Doing my due diligence and researching fixes, buying parts, performing services etc. - so far so good - thanks to all the existing DIYs found here (and elsewhere).

In my searches, the posted prices for most parts (from even just a few years ago) seem to be HALF (or more) of what they cost now. Example: EAS Height Sensors were ~$45 in 2013, now $100+, also the stop lamp switch was ~$12, now $35+.

Have all of you long-time owners noticed price increases across the board?
Am I missing something, or am I just late to the game?

I am finding my local Land Rover dealer to be fairly high on prices. The "deal" prices are about the same as those listed as retail on the Merriam Land Rover website. Phil

 

Thanks for the tips - I actually have an order from Merriam due to arrive this week. Just some various clips, screws, and stuff that only totaled $32, then add $11 shipping.

The same parts list was over $80 from Land Rover Pasadena.
Inexcusable really.

 

My question is, how hard is it to find salvage parts? Haven't researched yet, but so far it seems you need a dead one on the side which would eventually become a real rig

I have also searched local craigslist and found multiple LR3s being parted out, or at breakers within 100 miles. Might have to venture out some day and start pulling items I foresee "needing" to have on hand.

If my wife will let me store them all.
