Default HDC Fault

I have a 2005 LR3 that I purchased used last year. I have been very pleased thus far except for this annoying issue:

When the vehicle is first started or sometimes when driving relatively slow there is an alert from the computer telling me HDC Fault...the suspension then lowers and I get a brake light alert light eluminated.

Once I cut the vehicle off it does reset but quickly that alert comes again and the suspension is lowered once again.

I have seen some forum topics suggesting to replace the battery.

Has anyone experienced this issue before?

Thanks

Jeff

My LR3 is sitting at the dealership getting that very problem fixed among other things. Mine is under warranty and it turns on when the battery starts dying it causes that problem, but I am glad mine is under warranty, because it covers the battery and according to the dealership its $450 for one. Good Luch

Default Battery

Likely a battery - costs about $200 at a LR dealership less $18 in texas if you give back your old one - go to an Autozone or similar who will test the battery for free.

Hopefully that solves your problem. Had mine in yesterday for the same HDC Transmission fault slamming me down to access height. The problem wasn't my battery but.....drum roll please....the wrong voltage rear tail light bulb causing a malfunction within the system and tripping the fault. I have read about that on other forums, but I just wanted to let you know incase the battery doesn't fix the problem. Dealership replaced bulbs on both sides and haven't had a problem yet. Hope this is just a bit of useless information for ya, but good luck!
