Default DSC flashing and BRAKE light

I have an odd fault that is occurring and not throwing any faults....when I start my 3 without my foot on the brake my DSC light flashes and BRAKE light comes on, and stays on. However, if I start my 3 with my foot on the brake, both of the lights stay off, UNTIL I release the brake pedal, then they both immediately come up. I have already replaced the brake light switch, but i'm assuming it's tied into something else. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Are you getting any info on the screen when it faults? Mine is doing this now for a steering sensor angle issue

No info on the screen at all, and no fault through the IID tool. I have another transmission fault that I'm trying to track down but it does not seem to have any relationship to this issue.

This sounds familiar, did you post about this issue on a different message board?

It shows up as a transmission fault on the dash but shows as a transfer case fault on the IID though. If I clear it it comes back immediately.

Check post 4 in this thread, it can cause some random power train faults.

Here is the thread:

It was on this very forum! I don't know if there is a resolution at the end, but I'm sure you can find some nuggets by reading the thread.

You owe me a beer!

I do owe you one, find someone with a problem just like mine and the fix and i'll buy you two!

Looks like something similar, but looks like he's still stumped too. I'm thinking mine has something to do with one of the wiring splices in one of the door jams, possible water intrusion behind the battery, or maybe I just got a bad brake light switch.

This weekend I'll probably tear into it a bit more.
