Height Sensor Question
Anyone know if the ride height sensors have been revised in any way over the last 3 years? I replaced one yesterday (that had been installed by the dealership 2 years ago) and it was much thinner than the other spares I have and thinner than the old one that it had replaced (which I still have).
Is this a newer version of the correct LR3 sensor or did the tech erroneously install a sensor from perhaps an LR4 or RR?
Thanks in advance,
Houm

The 3-pin version is skinnier. Are they meant to be interchangeable? Can you roll with three 6-pin versions and one 3-pin version?
Long story short: dealer put in a three-pin unit with the rest being 6-pin two years ago. It does NOT fit in the bracket the same way as what was replaced. Christian at GAP was concluding that the bracket was bent because the calibration was so far off...but I'm thinking that it was because the sensor was not correct. 6-pin or 3-pin....I wonder if they shouldn't be the same size and fit the bracket the same way...???
Hmmm... this is interesting. I have the same thing. One corner that is way off from the others. I think I'll go out and check to see if my sensors are 3 or 6 pin. I know that at least one has been replaced because I recall the sensor arms being different color... some were white/clear and some were black.
Maybe that's why the aftermarket says to use the same type of sensor, because if you change, you are assured to have to recalibrate. If you stick with the same maybe sometimes you can get away without doing that.
