Help with burning smell
So the other day I had a plastic burning smell coming for my 2008 Land Rover LR3 (75,000 miles). I took it to a local garage. He had it 2 weeks now. He said he thinks it’s the fan clutch or secondary air pump but he’s not sure. I did have a P0441-00 code. Anyone have any ideas. Obviously he’s not to interested in diagnosing it.
Thanks,
Joe

Worthwhile to give a tank on the e brake release cable to make sure they aren't rubbing.
It's next to the shifter and easy to get to.
Pull up the rubber piece on the passenger side then remove that plastic cover. From there youll find a steel cable loop. Just run something through that loop and give a couple hard pulls up.

Get your nose close to the alternator (motor NOT running
) and determine if the smell is coming from it. In my case, when my alternator started going south it smelled like electrical insulation burning. Might be your cause.
