I did see the thread. Just finished reading it and it does sound like the exact same issue... thanks you for finding that.

It was a private party purchase. So I think I am kind of hosed on having it taken care of. The old owner did take really good care of the rig. I have an entire box of work receipts. I will hunt through that and see if the thermostat housing was replaced.

 

That sucks. Yeah, I would look into the procedure for repacking the t-stat housing but unless you can let it sit apart I would not start until you have what you need.

 

Sounds good. Now I have a game plan. I will definitely order the parts first before I dig in.
