Default HELP! Multiple warnings!

Yesterday I started the LR3 (2007 SE V8 with 96,000 miles) after several tries, but with multiple warnings. It has never hesitated to start. Here are the warnings:

Transmission fault - limited gears available
System fault - special programs not available
HDS system fault
Check all tyre pressures
CEL is on
Brake light is on
Suspension is lowered to access mode and will not raise

I replaced the brake light switch this morning and it did not make a difference. The battery is less than 6 months old and its the LR recommended Interstate battery. I also did a hard reset with the battery this morning.

Anybody have any ideas???

A couple of more things. I have just jumped the battery from our other car just to check it out. No change. Also, when the car has sat for about an hour and I start it, it fires right up. But if I turn it off and restart it right away, it takes a few cranks to finally start. It also seems to run rough.

Check how old your battery is with the numbers stamped on top of it. You can use Interstate Battery's website. If its more then 2 years old replace it. I had same issue on my '07 2 months ago and found out it had the original battery. New Interstate battery and no issues.

Just an update on all the warning lights and messages. It turns out that some critters thought the LR3's wiring tasted pretty good. They chewed one completely through and another one partially through. Dealer was able to do some splicing but it cost $375. Unfortunately Ford ESP does not cover this.

What about vehicle insurance (vandalism?).

Rodents have teeth that grow like our fingernails, they have to gnaw them down. So they may well return.

Hey, does anybody know how to discourage varmints from getting into the engine compartment and chewing wires. I suspect this may have been a squirrel. Unfortunately I have to park the LR3 out on the driveway, which in the Dallas area is usually not a problem.

Fenced yard and hungry dogs. There are sprays that have various bitter / pepper tastes in them, like "Critter Ridder". But in your area the squirrels might like Tex/Mex and they might eat more. A spray won't stay on forever in engine heat and rain spash. For offshore instruments that stay on the bottom for six months or so I used to mix Desitin diaper creame and chili pepper, it is pink, very sticky, and stays on for quite a while underwater; keeps off the sea creatures. Hard to say which wire would seem the most tasty to a varmit. I guess you could mix grease or vaseline with chili pepper and apply it, after all, who would notice a little grease on a Rover?

I have had issues with rodents in the past and now I sprinkle a few moth ***** under my vehicles and boat and have had no further issues. If you don't want moth ***** on the ground I have also purchased for lack of a better word moth ball urinal cake. It is a crystal in a plastic hanger that I have hooked on or under vehicles and once again no more rodent issues. Just remember to remove it before you drive off.
