Default Hi guys n gals, I need help

Hi all, new to the forum and land rovers in general( I am a dodge guy). But I was looking at getting my wife an suv, but she does not like the durangos. So we found an lr3 that she really liked and we baught it. It was fine the first 2 days we had it. Then it started making a god awful grinding noise. To it to a shop who diagnosed it as a wheel hub bearing. Found out that's they won't work on rover suspension though and won't touch it. I found the part at autozone for 245 bucks. What I am asking is would this be something I can change myself. Is there a walthrough somewhere? I tried the search but it kept crashing my phone....

I think maybe he also is looking for a how to on the suspension arm? If you are handy you should be able to accomplish it. It is important to "stake the nut" so it cannot work off.

Let us know how it goes. Where are you located, there is probably an independent shop around that can be recommended if you need it.

I have dealt with British 4x4 of Reno Home Page they are a top notch outfit independent shop. I have supplied them with some stuff.

If you get hung up call them. Or call them and develop a relationship before you get hung up.

Yeah, I have actually heard of them. I was planning on having them check it out once I can get the chance to go to reno. Work really keeps me busy, as ironically I am a mechanic myself...just not for cars. I have spent 9 years in the navy working on jets and the last 6 months working at one of the underground gold mines as a heavy equipment mechanic. Both of which are very much different than working on cars

I would recommend them. I dealt with Brian there. Dropped you a PM also. Working on cars is easy, just like anything else. By the numbers, and the forums help a lot.

Well the hub showed up today. Not bad, 235 bucks out the door after veterans discount at autozone. Going over to a buddies tomorrow to swap it out. I am sure I will get plenty of heckling from him, he is a big jeep guy...
