Hitch reciever issues
I just bought a used LR3 and went to install the trailer hitch receiver to find that it doesn't insert all the way. There's a pin at the top of the mail part of the receiver that looks like it should retract, but it doesn't. It does move up and down if I pull on it, but it stops about a 1/4 inch from being fully retracted. This makes it impossible to lock in the receiver.
I'm tempted to just cut if off, but wondered if there's an easier and less destructive method.

So it turns out my diagnosis was wrong. It wasn't that it wouldn't fully retract, it's that it wasn't fully extended. I took the lock mechanism off and fully cocked the device (which you can't do, apparently, without the key if the locking mech is in place...or at least that's how mine was behaving).
Once I had it fully cocked, plugged it in and it latched right in.
Leaving all that off until I get a chance to order a new lock.
