When you have the vent off pull out that rubber boot, if there is a big piece of foam behind it remove and throw away, it blocks a drain, reinstal boot

BTW, for those who may be interested, this is the best way I've found to remove the vent without breaking anything. Stand with your back to the vent, facing away from the car. Put your fingers/hands under the middle horizontal bar on the vent and lift up. As you lift up, rotate the bottom of the vent out. When you face the vent, it is infinitely harder to get the right leverage and angle.

Yeah when I made these pics I did exactly that after reading one of your posts. I think its just luck of the draw.

Good tips for removing vent designed to be easily installed during mfg of vehicle. Obviously will break tabs when removed 80% of the attempts. Also designed to help boost spares revenue? Plastic parts suck but do recall the metal spring tabs or other fasteners failing/rusting as well.

First post here!

Good tips on how to remove and about the foam. I figured you faced away from it because watching yourself take this off the first time is too hard to watch.
