Default Hurricane Wheels on LR3

So I am shopping around to replace the ridiculous 20" rims that the previous owner put on my LR3 and I found a set of 18" hurricane wheels that have been bored out to fit the LR3. They have a pretty much new set of 265/65 Cooper Discoverer ATPs on them.

My question is, does anyone run rims like this and can you see any problem with the slight offset (4mm I think) difference between the two.

Also, if you have any experience with those tires, I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

Crazy! I was going to ask the same about some D2 HSE wheels(typhoon I think)

As far as fit, I think it's ok, but I'm worried about weight rating. (Of course the hub needs to be bored out).

Anyways, let's see if anyone has actually done it!

The guy selling them has been running them on his LR3 and they were bored out by the guy he bought it from.

So it has to be possible. It will certainly be interesting to see if anyone is doing this, or if there is some weird problem that it might cause over time.

Yeah it can be done physically...but the weight rating of the rim should be a consideration, especially if you are off-roading.

Default Hurricane rims?

What are Hurricane rims?

Does anyone have a picture or a link to something that shows them - just wondering.

I fortunately have a set of 18" factory LR3 wheels I got off a wrecked 3 many years back when bigger was better.

To make it worse, LR can ship from the factory, the current LR4 with "available" 20" rims and it appears 20" is standard on the FFRR and I suppose the Sport as well.

The first photo is the D2 hurricane.
Second photo is what I have on my LR3. I've been told they are reminiscent of the Hurricanes, and also been told they are limited edition and hard to find. I was lucky enough to be offered one from a fellow member (Abran) who is parting out a Java Black 3.
