Default I love my LR3 but should pieces fly off as I drive on a highway?

OK, it's a rhetorical question. I took delivery of a 2009 LR3 V8 HSE a little while ago in Dubai. After the run in period I drove 350 km past Abu Dhabi where the roads are excellent highway quality, dead straight and void of traffic.

So, I did what some would do whilst in a safe environment, see how fast this truck can go. At 200 km/h I was impressed but then the plastic strip that divides the windscreen and the driver's side door just blew off.

When I took it back to the dealer, they told me it was because it must have been extra windy!!! This is a LANDROVER!!!!! Not a Ford Kia. Since when does having pieces blow off, under any circumstances, be acceptable??

That aside, I am officially in love with this car, as long as all the pieces stay on, it was a fantastic buy, a testament to modern engineering whilst holding onto the Landrover roots of 'go anywhere'

You are talking about the plastic moulding at the bottom of the door?
I have riped them off in the woods got both sides last time I was out I must have hit some snow and ice a little hard. Never Blown off though.
I love the pic with the camel in the background that is SICK!

That piece is known as the "A" pillar. It is held on by clips and should not have come free no matter fast you were going. This typically happens after having the wind shield/screen replaced. Auto glass installers tend not to replace the clips with new ones. Should not have happened on your beautiful new Land Rover though.

Beautiful image you posted as well. I would love to visit Dubai someday.

I have an '08 LR3 - is the moulding along the bottom of the door(s) glued on or are there clips holding it to the doorframe?
