Default Idle problem, not MAF, T/B, or Air Filter

2006 SE, V6, 80k miles. Here's what happens: I'll be driving around fine, and then when I sit in park with the engine running, about 3 minutes in the rpm's will dip from 750 to liike 700 and the truck will begin to shake. After this goes on for a couple minutes, the front end lowers, no idea why. It never quits, it just shakes on and off. Threw a CEL, so I gotta get that read. I'll post when I do.

Just cleaned the MAF, throttle body, and changed the air filter. What else could this be?

Once of the codes is related to the EGR valve. Did you try cleaning the EGR valve?

P0108-Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input.
P0406-Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor "A" Circuit High

I haven't done the EGR yet only because it looks like a pain to get to. I think I'm going to try some easier things first (that probably need to be replaced anyway) like the MAP and the PCV valve (even though I have no idea where it's located after looking at diagrams for an hour, see my post in tech section).

After more research, the EGR isn't hard to get to, it's actually right in front of my face.

Looks like this thing needs a total replacement, no?

Rather than spending $$ on a new valve. I would try unbolting it from the manifold & exhaust pipe and use carb cleaner to clean the valve from all the carbon buildup.

There's a pdf in this thread on removal: https://landroverforums.com/forum/lr...ve-leak-53557/

Isn't the valve pretty darn cheap?

Aftermarket is like $250. OEM is more like $300.

I may just replace with whole thing with aftermarket anyway.

i'll bet you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Start off by looking over all your vacuum line connections, giving them a gentle tug to make sure they're still tight. A common one is the PVC elbow on many cars. While it's acting up, you could spray a little starting fluid around the connections to see if your idle momentarily increases. That's a dead giveaway. you can buy me a beer if I'm right 😎
