Not sure if there are models that do/do not come with them but this is exactly how mine was in the pic. I have noticed however that my AUX connection has been giving issue when connected as if it is not making good connection. I started out with a Bluetooth adapter from amazon and it worked great until the input started giving me issue.
It works really well. you can connect it to your output and USB. it comes on when the LR is started and auto connects to the last device it was previously connected to. Goes off when vehicle is shut off. I've only had to manually connect it a few times but usually when i start the LR the walk away with my phone in my pocket. When I come back to the LR, unless I've left it, I will have to reconnect it.

From memory red and blue, they are on a small plug with only 4 wires separate to the main connector.
