I was thinking the red in the vehicle was right side like on the chord but I was WRONG! 😂
When I had it the wrong way it sounded funny and really low kind of like when you pull a aux plug halfway out. Now it works fine.

I am in the middle of doing exactly what you have done on the hardwire into the Aux plug. Thanks for the previous post and info it was very helpful. However, red to blue, white to red and ground to black on my end and the volume is substantially lower. I had tried the cable directly into the unit and auxiliary socket in the back when I started and the cable was fine. Now it sounds much lower and as if half the sound system is not working. I can adjust the balance correctly but missing something. Any ideas?

HI there, I'm not seeing 2 ground wires in my 3.5 cable? Are you talking about the two black wires on the wiring loom plug? I am getting low sound as if only half the system is working. I did piggy back on the Aux cables to keep the rear aux cable working. Could that be the problem or do I need to connect the black on the cord to both blacks on the plug? Any thoughts or help would be great. Thanks!

Update
I had a hunch and it was on the right track. If I plug a 3.5 male socket in the rear aux port everything works perfectly. The issue is now that I don't want to leave a plug in there all the time. What is the wiring solution? Thx

That might be the factory "switched ground" function that enabled the overhead DVD or something else
There is even a PN for the LR dummy plug to toggle this - YPX500070

I completely removed my rear factory AUX board, and plugs (I soldered wire-to-wire) replaced with the bluetooth board/wires
I combined both grounds to 1 and have no volume issue

(this relates to an Ebay Bluetooth Board install to stream music via AUX - and look factory - with expected volume behavior)
