back from the stealership and $350 bucks later.. original key now works as it should.. and the key that started the car this morning is now a dud.. reason: aftermarket.. i wonder if i try to reprogram it again if it will recognize it... maybe look for a locksmith or something.. i dont want this headache again

 

When programing keys, ALL keys must be present. During programing the new key is programmed to the truck but even the other working keys must be inserted during the procedure. This is why having a GAP tool is nice, it clearly outlines this in the manual and even during the programing of new keys will ask you to insert the old ones.
