Default LandLeaping.com experience?

Looking for some parts not available at Atlantic British and stumbled across the above. Cheaper than FCP as well, but zero experience with this company. Any feedback?

All I know is they have been around from quite a while. I am sure you could give then a try without worry.

I found https://landrover.oempartsonline.com a while back for many OEM parts. My shipments would arrive from Land Leaping. Best I can tell is this is a group of Land Rover dealerships who have pushed their parts departments into an e-commerce environment with competitive pricing. My current open order for a lower steering shaft is on the way!

“Powered by RevolutionParts”

I have found many different OEM parts houses using RevolutionParts for their e-commerce platform. In almost every case, true OEM parts at good prices.

For LR071147? I think I need to replace mine, again. I dont have a spare to rebuild and done want to risk removing mine and messing it up. lol I still found LR Direct at $200 shipped to be much cheaper tho.

Yep, that's what I have on order for $330.86 plus tax and $12 for shipping. LRDirect has "Britpart OEM" for $158, "Allmakes OEM" for $163, and Land Rover for $333. If Britpart and Allmakes are true oem parts, that's a nice discount!

Britpart is one of the (probably the) largest reboxing companies. You should be fine if the product is advertised as their OEM. It is usually the identical product to the one you’d get from JLR except the logos aren’t there and the price is less. I have a BP OEM thermostat housing and it is 1:1 except the land rover oval logo and part numbers aren’t on the plastic but have been obfuscated by rubbing over them with sandpaper.

Britpart has also another line (“more economical”) for some stuff… probably not for every part however. I’d advise to stay away from those.

Allmakes 4x4 is really (nowadays) owned by Britpart. Not sure if they’re still an independent operation or have been merged and exist only as a brand,

Bearmach ceased operations last year or the year before.

Yeah, the "Britpart OEM" shaft I bought a couple years ago still had the LR logo on the rip joint. And yes, Britpart bought AllMakes, but I still tend to shy away from Allmakes 4x4. And with both I am DEF not a fan of stuff they make themselves, I only get OEM. The reason why stuff in the UK is so much cheaper is that in the UK there is a wholesale market of OEM parts and they are selling to "traddies" - that is people who work at or own repair shops. So like the food industry in the US, they have access to OEM parts through a network where in turn they can mark it up. While in the US that does sorta exist, its not the same. For a small two person shop to get OEM GM parts, for example, there will be layers of markup and odds are they will still have to get it from the dealer not from a network. Anyway.... point is its is a little different there and they done vet who "traddies" are so they basically just sell wholesale to anyone. The shipping can suck but its fast. I bought my entire front and rear end from LRDirect. And even paying hundreds in shipping I came WAY out ahead. Parts came in plain boxes or Britpart and most had the LR logos ground off. Funny thing is the ONLY part I ahve had problems with was the AllMakes rear toe links. Both failed at about 40k miles. Was the only part, at the time, that was really hard to find and OEM was unavailable. Oh... I even got an genuine GKM main driveshaft for $280 shipped form them. In the US most prices were double that.

I know how it feels. With UK completing their silly brexit, suddenly the stores there had to increase paperwork for shipments to EU and “our” local customs started charging duty and local VAT (24%)… not very ideal.

On the other hand specialist parts can’t really (easily) be procured within EU so one has to buy from UK. I have very good experiences with LRdirect, Advanced Factors and Rimmer Bros. If I buy from within EU I need to research and have rather high confidence it’s a quality part. As I mentioned in the other thread Gates doesn’t seem to be it anymore.

Funny how no one has posted this yet but Land Leaping is Land Rover Portland - same business. Just their online parts front. It's my favorite online JLR parts dealer site - great prices, on it, shipping is quick (although I'm in the same city as them... so next day usually for me). Recommend them highly.
