Default Looking at an LR3

Looking to upgrade my 97 Disco I to an LR3. I have a line on an 05 LR3 SE that has low miles (45,500ish). Its currently riding on Nitto Terra Grappler all terrains (255/60/18). It will be a few days before I can get down to it for a test drive. Can anyone speak to this setup, positive or negatives? For highway driving? I certainly appreciate it for Utah winters just want to make sure I wont hate the ride in the summers. Any other suggestion on things to look for? Full dealer service records and a clean car fax are available to me.

I have the exact same tires on mine...They are brand new and SUPER quiet. (can't hear them over my diff...lol)....I would pull the front skid plate and look for oil on the bottom of the motor, leaking diff, visually inspect the ball joints, control arm bushings, anything else. Test drive for a long time...listen for slight noises coming from the driveline...listen for changes on and off of the throttle. Pull the valve cover oil fill and look for milky oil....a tiny bit could be condensation but if there is any build up there could be an issue. while driving slowly slam on the brakes and listen for any thud noises. Raise and lower the suspension several times and notice how long it takes to move from one position to the other. Make sure to shift the transfer case to the low side and drive it on a hard surface and turn the wheel from lock to lock...listen for tire scrub, and notice if it jumps or shudders. climb all over the car...check for clear coat failure on the roof, especially behind the rear skyroof. Check all of the fluids. Take time, look, look, look. Don't make a rash decision.
