It's on the top of the diff....you can rule it out if you don't have a full-sized spare. If you do have the full-sized spare, you can check for the actuator on top of the differential unit.

I don't have full size spare, so it is in transfer case. Still waiting for book to!

People need to stop saying this. It is not true as any vehicle can be ordered with any size spare. There are plenty of locking LR3s out there with small spares and tons out there with full size yet no locker.

Here is why I say it, Dakota:

People with non-HD variant LR3s can get full-sized spares and that would be reasonable. That is a practical thing to do. My '06 is non-HD and the spare is full-sized. The PO did that, otherwise I would have done that as well.

Who on Earth, with an HD variant LR3 would intentionally get rid of their full-sized spare and replace it with a donut????

You are correct and it is technically true that an LR3 with a donut spare could be non-HD variant and the moronic owner (or PO) chose to get a donut spare and ditch the full-sized spare it came with? Sure....it's just not really likely.

I did check the diff and no locker on top but will be updating tires to same brand all the way around. has two different brands on her and i know that's a problem. that could cause binding in front in sharp turn situation. my code reader will be here on Monday; then i will start blowing code out like four letter words. Kind of like what up above in previous post above.

Not sure why two different brands would matter, now two different sizes can cause issues but typically it will make for sensitive/random traction control activations especially around corners or higher speed road bends.

Different Brand tires can use different measuring technic for sidewall height 60 is the cross section of 255 but some tires have a more rounded measurement. could be up to 1/2-inch difference between height and width. Cause binding in front axles.

Well since you know that is the problem, as you believe/say. I shall certainly not waste any more time on this thread. I am sure you figured it out!

Bwahahahaha.... someone needs a drink.

....and to the OP, no bro, the tire brand and that tiny difference in size is not gonna be the cause of your issues.

IWell since you know that is the problem. I do not know the issue but start with the simple thing first, but without codes it hard to find the faults. I was thinking chain slippage in case. But with chain skipping usually get cracked case and oil everywhere. The person who had it before me had the transfer case replaced and drove it like this for a year. when I get code reader on Monday, I will lift her off the ground all 4 wheel and put in gear and see if I can find the problem with no load on the tires and the scanner plugged in...
