Amber warning light back on, will do some more research, there appears to be a wiring problem, unfortunately will have to wait until I have some help to remove the left front and right rear wheels so can check the integrity of the brake sensor circuit. The plot just keeps getting thicker...

You don't have to remove the wheels. Just access the connectors. Th rear is easy, its right behind the strut tower next to the ABS speed sensor connector, so don't confuse em. The front is a little more work since the liner pretty much has to come out. Dont forget to disconnect the tire sensor antenna before pulling it.

Thanks Dakota, will have to try that when I get some more time and a chance to put it up on my friend's hoist. Am also thinking about a connector, C2238? which would seem to also line up with some intermittent cruise control issues. I'm sure eventually it'll be found, just that intermittent issues are aggravating and hard to solve...

If you have a GAP tool you can disable the brake pad sensors. This will help you know if it’s the sensor wiring causing the problem or the fluid level sensor wiring. The GAP tool may also find an actual fault in brake system causing the light as well.

Thanks Alex, I have a GAP IIDTool and will have a chance today to take some time so will look through the menus and try that out, the level sensor causes the lamp to display red, I'm thinking that there is a wiring problem because it is so intermittent. Thanks again for your input...

No problem. Worst case you can just disable the pad sensors to get rid of the light. Looking in the menus sometime before I got my LR3 the TPMS and pad sensors were disabled. Once I change my brakes I may turn the pad sensors back on.

I just remembered someone was having some sort of intermittent warning light and they found some broken wires and wires with damaged insulation in a harness in the LF wheel well. I’m fairly sure they said one of the wires they found with damaged insulation was for the brake sensor.

Yes, I'm pretty sure I'm dealing with some kind of wiring issue not related to the sensors, but back in the harness a bit. The park brake seems to work fine and operates and releases as it is supposed to (with appropriate warning lamps), so I guess will just wait till it happens again and try to find it, at that point will go into the CCF menu and try to disable the warning as you mentioned before, perhaps that will help me narrow it down...

This could be a nightmare for you thankfully there are temporary fixes that are really cheap but take a little finessing and there are long-term fixes that can get quite expensive if you start in the wrong Speed Test direction.
