Well, it is not the connectors in the wheel wells or under the body (the really easy ones) so I guess it is time to bring out the big guns, the Chinese made solid state colour dual trace oscilloscope (actually better than my trusty old Textronix). Unfortunately, the darned pad warning light has gone out again and I'm now convinced it is a connector further up the food chain. Will keep reporting until success...

Well, I'm pretty red-faced about this but ever since I fixed my electrical grounds I don't seem to have a problem anymore. If the problem comes back I hope I'm alive to report back and advise you all. Thanks for all your advice and help!

Did fixing those grounds solve this? And what consisted of fixing those grounds?

can anyone tell me where in the GAP tool app menu I can disable this? On a road trip. Replaced brake pads and sensors before the trip, but the warning persists. Neeed to disable during this trip. Thanks!

It is hard wired, no way to disable. Basically the light is a true and simple dummy light. It can be triggered via other means though, such as ABS or parking brake system being offline. But if all systems are good, then it generally means one of you two pad sensors have a physical fault. Some of the aftermarket sensors do not connect will to the factory harness. I had one I had to modify, trim shorter, to fit into the connector.
