yes - its relative of course.. but the HD package locks when needed and unlocks automatically which can be mere seconds or a longer period.. just depends on what it needs..

So back to this one.. i guess the answer is go and see what happens... but i think it should be ok with manually locked F/R diffs and leaving the center under computer control...

Really i think the only thing that might throw it for a loop is TC and trying to articulate the brakes but when locked this "should not" be an issue... as i think i'll find the drive line "Fuse" if i'm that stuck or totally forget reason and go all skinny pedal..

I'll have it out a Uwharrie hopefully sometime soon and give it a go up dicky bell - i was in my D90 last weekend

I thought I had seen on another thread that you were out there last weekend. It was a good trip we had a great time.

Get out there and hit the trail. I among others are dying to know how it works.

Ahhh ok well good to have a face to go with the online name lol.

No more wheeling trips for me till Rovers on the Rocks next month unfortunately. I have duty this weekend than I have to get some stuff done around the house that I'm behind on.

The really cool thing is that HD CV shafts are only 2 months out from the guys at Lucky8.

all depends on how ballsy you get with the skinny pedal, at full droop.

I have a LR3 with an ARB front and the HD package. Long story short Terrain response modes control how likely the computer is to lock your electronic lockers and how much force to apply. Brief tangent. The LR3 locker is not a locker, its actually a computer controlled limited slip differential that can vary the amount of pressure. The highest I have seen is 860 ftlbs. The center and rear differentials are controlled together. The rear is a slave and the center is the master.

The second thing terrain response does is change shift points. Sand for example moves your shift points to a very high RPM. Sand also puts the viscous fan at 100%. I used this fact while towing a broken series land rover in Mexico.

Finally rock crawl mode re-maps your throttle. The others don't touch it. In summary I use mud ruts for 90% of my technical off roading, and rock crawl for those really tricky bits. I use normal for everything else, I don't want to wear the clutch that is inside the locker un-necessarily

A final point of caution for the ARB lockers. The fact that the land rover locker is not a true locker allows an outlet for gear wind up before something breaks. The ARB does not. Use it very sparingly and for the absolute minimum amount of time. Independent axles are weaker than solid axles and less tolerant to gear wind up

Can you please elaborate on how the slave/master relationship works?

Also, I've read that the diffs are "infinitely variable" and took that to mean that this includes up to full lock. Seems like false advertising as LR calls them "locking" differentials.
