I always use OEM discs. That's not to say I use Land Rover branded discs, but for the LR3, I believe the OEM was Brembo. And I will also only use discs with a good anti-corrosion coating on them. I've had too many instances where cheaper discs rust away to a godawful mess in no time.

As far as pads, I believe the OEM was Ferodo semi-metallic, but people seem to have good luck with Textar. I switched to Akebono last time for dust reasons and have been happy with them. Almost zero brake dust and while the brakes feel very weak for the first few hundred miles, after they break in and wear through their special bedding compound, they feel equivalent to OEM for me.

I just saw in person the pads the dealer uses, TRW=OEM brand I believe. They look equivalent to Textars, but the TRW ones have sticky stuff at rear of pads to provide a seal over the caliper piston. Textars do not have this stuff and my pistons have some rust and I am occasionally wondering about what gets in the gaps there. I have been using Textars both front and rear since I got the truck, and they're okay. Good braking but lots of dust. I will probably change to something that makes less dust.

The rims are blacked out so not too concerned with the dust, so which is the better stop more durable pad for the vehicles weight? Ceramic or semi metallic? There does not seem to be much price difference
