LR3 Died while driving
Ok so here's the story. Maybe someone had a similar experience. So first thing to happen was when we went to lock the car we heard one beep. Didn't think much but after driving to next store we parked and then the car went dead when we tried to start to leave. I'm saying completely dead. Tried to jump it but wouldn't work. Finally realized the battery had a bad cell. We replaced the battery and on the way home after it started up great, the car started to freak out. Things like parking break failure and more. We compared the dash to Christmas lights. By the time we pulled into the driveway it basically died in place. It's dead now.
Has anyone had a similar experience? My guess is that the alternator is bad and the car was starting to lose juice and that's why systems were failing. But if anyone can explain the beep issue and the alternator issue being one issue that would be great. Something that we may have done that I read about was pressing the lock/unlock/unlock sequence. What does that do? Can it be reversed?

What did you spend to get the alternator replaced?
When you say you heard a beep do you mean the horn?...or the actuation of the locks? If you heard the horn, that means something was open partially...a door, the bonnet or the back gate.
I've heard of (and experienced) a lot of goofy behavior when the LR3 is low on juice or otherwise gets inconsistent voltage readings by its sensors, but never heard of one dying in place.
