Default LR3 Died while driving, cranks but won't start

Hi. Hoping someone might chime in with some ideas here. The other day I changed the air filter on my 2006 HSE, after which the truck suddenly lost power and died a block and a half from my house and would not start again. Starter cranks continously with key in start position - have to manually turn it back to get it to stop. Seems like no fuel? Key was in ignition when I changed the filter, thought maybe I shorted the MAF sensor or blue a fuse. But fuses and MAF sensor are both good. I fear its a fuel pump issue, but seems too coincidental that it would happen almost immediately after I changed the air filter.
Any suggestions to try before having it towed to mechanic? I have an IID tool. No relevant codes displayed.

Thanks!

Disconnect from the battery for 10+ minutes and try again. Did you change anything else? I replaced my MAF after the previous MAF was acting up and the new one wouldn't allow the car to start. I had no codes at the time and none came up while cranking. Look at fuel rail pressure, and see if you can smell unburnt fuel while cranking. See if there's anything restricting airflow or if the filter is installed correctly (not doubting you, there are so many common mistakes we all make). Also unplug the sensor and re-plug it in, sometimes a connector is loose or not fully clicked in.

These are all ideas and could help find the problem. I don't know the cause of the problem but trying simple stuff first always helps. Hopefully it save you $$$!

Thanks for the ideas. Didn't change anything else, and nothing blocking air flow that I can see. New air filter is in same position as the old. Tried starting with air filter removed and no go. MAF connection unplugged and plugged multiple times, no change. MAF sensor cleaned, no change. Disconnected battery but not sure if it was 10 minutes or more, will try again.
Assume I need a gauge of some kind to test fuel rail pressure? Or is there a reading on the GAP tool that I should look at?
Sounds like you fixed yours by changing out the MAF sensor a second time?

Check your MAF sensor plug pins, they can slip. Check your throttle body connector, careful they break.

I went back to the old one and returned the new one. No clue why it happened but the old works just fine now.

Thanks. Checked both connections, no change. Also checked 25A fuel pump fuse, intact. Swapped fuel system relay, no change.
Anyone have any other thoughts? Folks who have had this issue on other forums have pointed to the cam sensor, but would a failure of that lead to the car dying?

It may be time to check for spark, fuel, and maybe compression? It seems like it would be either no spark or fuel. I've never pulled the spark plugs on the LR3s yet. I need to replace the coil packs and plugs but haven't had the time. Not sure how to test fuel properly, but smelling the exhaust while cranking may help indicate if there's fuel or not. Not sure how reliable this is so don't take it as a definitive answer.

Hopefully others can comment on how to test for fuel and spark. It should help narrow where the issue is.

You may want to try cleaning the crank position sensor connection or even replacing the crank position sensor.

Definitely, cam sensor is one of those things that works cold then when warm doesn't. Does the V8 have one, TDV6 does.

Thanks. Would bad crank sensor or bad cam sensor cause the car do die while driving?
