Default LR3 downshift issue

We just purchased an 05 with 30k on it!! what a great find! the only major issue is when we are coming to a stop or rolling thru stop and go traffic, the transmission downshifts to first gear and it clunks/lurches/hesitates... i.e. something just isn't right! Haven't been to a dealer yet, but i'm hoping it is just a reprograming error (as my friend's Audi A4 had a similar issue and that's what it was). Anyone have a similar issue or know the fix?

Change the front and rear Differential fluids once you get your software patched at the dealer.

There is a Technical Bulletin and a software update for that. While you are at it, ask them to update all the software. In particular ask for the new relay and compressor software update.

I am having the same issue. I would think that this update would have been done already? Does anyone know if independent rover shops can do these updates?

An independent shop can do it if they have a Autologix system, or similar computer that is setup for the Land Rover.

Just ask them, let your fingers do the walking.

If you want a shop suggestion, let everyone know what city you are in and maybe you can get a recommendation.

Just called the dealer. They told me they haven't seen the update fix this issue, that it will come back...has anyone had the update NOT work? I don't want to throw $130 at something that's not going to be fixed.

find another dealer thats willing to check and download if needed the pcm and tcm. there have been updated tune levels that addressed different issues. If you have a high milage supercharged range or s/c sport with shift issues I would not attempt to update the trans.

They said they would do it, I just want to make sure they do the right thing/s? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.
