Default LR3 Driver Side Rear Seat Stuck

2006 LR3 Driver Side Rear Seat Stuck folded down. Rear seat is folded down and cannot raise and fold up.
Any ideas on how to get this thing up?

Have you brought it into the flat and raised position? That has to be done first before the back returns to the upright position.

Did you try both of the release loops?
There is one in the front, and the back of the seat.
From the back of the seat, you should be able to follow where to release loop leads to and (with small hands) actually pull on the latch mechanism itself that releases it and allows it to raise up

I have a set of middle row seats up on a shelf (hard to get to right now as the 2008 is in the garage getting a new water pump), but I can try to take some pictures to show how the latch works if you are unsuccessful reaching from behind the seat.
Let us know how that works out.

understand the release to raise the seat and how to reach the release catch. Its stuck solid. Possibly the the seat was raised in the wrong sequence and now there is interference. That may take some force to pass the catches, but its all I can figure. The back is raised fully and will lower fully. The seat bottom is flat and in low position.... frozen. Any ideas?

If pulling the little loops and using a big pry bar (or 2X4) to raise it does not work, Removing it to get better access may be your next step. Problem with that is getting to the 4 bolts in front mount may be a little tight and the normal torx socket may be too large to get under the seat. Also there may not be enough room to rotate it backwards to get the rear hook to release from that bar.

I suppose worse case is you remove the other seats, get the 4 front bolts removed, and then get the 4 (or 6) bolts that hold the rear catch bars down out so the seat can come out.

Remember that as the seat comes up, it moves to the rear slightly as well.

Thanks
I'm going to get for fab a tool that has a 1/8 to 1/4in hook at end, hopefully grab the under seat latch and jerk it loose.... this and indy machanic not fixing a coolant leak for 800 bucks has got me a bit aggravated

If that doesn't work, you say I can remove center seat and get access to bolts for driver rear seat?

Sometimes the nylon strap gets folded over itself, causing binding when pulling the loop end.
Keeps me from raising my seat, like you are describing.

Kinda like when a seatbelt strap gets folded thru the slot - hard to dislodge.

Unfolding it has always made mine workable again - once it is freed.
Maybe this will help yours too?
