Exclamation LR3 emergency door opening mechanism

Hi All, have a bit of a unique issue where it looks like the emergency door opening mechanism is jammed. The driver side door handle seems to be very loose and not going back in to position as I twist the key. I went to get in to the rover and the battery fob was dead, so tried the key release and ended up with this situation where the door handle doesn't seem to go back in. Was curious if there's some sort of reset that needs to happen or anything along those lines? Any help is greatly appreciated (attached a pic and a video).

Hi Tony,
It would appear that your door lock grease has solidified over the years, I had a similar situation and had to use several applications of wd-40 or a more powerful solvent to get that lock working. Good luck, be very careful and don't force things, you'll get it to eventually unlock...

Of course, I could be wrong and you are having mechanical problems, another issue entirely...

Thanks for that, I'll soak it overnight and see if that does anything. It does seem to turn, but doesn't seem to be grabbing anything

Hi back, I noticed that your door handle is not pushed all the way back to normal, you need to have the door handle in the normal position , then insert the key and try to unlock the door...

Sorry probably could've done a better job explaining - it seems like the door handle is no longer attached to the cable (it's just hanging out there loosely). The video I uploaded on the original post kinda shows it... My gut is I might need to take it apart and look at the handle from the inside (possible the cable is broken or something along those lines). Was curious if this was something anyone else had ever seen...

Okay, thought I'd update this thread in case someone runs in to this issue in the future. Apparently when I tried to unlock the door with the door lock cylinder I pulled on the handle a bit too hard and it dislodged. The following pages from the manual helped get this back together. Hope this helps someone in the future and appreciate y'alls help! I ended up taking the inside door panel off before finding this manual (that was a totally unnecessary step).

Talking figured it out...

I thought I'd close the loop on this in case it pops up for someone else. Apparently when I used the key to try open the door (via the cylinder door lock) I pulled on the handle a bit too hard and dislodged it. The following pages from the manual (which thanks to this forum I found) helped fix this. Thank you to all who replied - appreciate the suggestions.
