Hey people, after spending an exhaustive amount of money to put my beloved 2005 LR3 HSE in order a few issues creeped up out of nowhere. They are as follows:
My air suspension lowers at will in routine driving sessions on the highway. In most instances I will pull over, shut down the engine, restart and this will engage the system to inflate. It does not always inflate on the first restart but usually I can hear the compressor running and it will do so after a few tries. Suspension related lights come on as shown in the attached pic. After a few miles of driving, however, it lowers again. Annoying and dangerous
The driver's side window will operate normally with no problems and then not work for a few days, returning to normal when least expected.
I get several signals on the dashboard that includes:
Amber Brake light stays on [just started doing this]
Amber Parking Brake Light stays on along with flashing Red Parking Brake light. Parking brake was just changed and fully repaired a month or so ago. It is now inop.
Check engine light now on
Dashboard readout shows, HDC fault, transmission fault, suspension failure [yet everything seems to be working fine except suspension issue]
I can't believe that all these things could suddenly fail at the same time. Any ideas? Electrical problem? Truck runs fine, suspension can be reset (but lowers again). Need some help with this. Thanks guys. Everett
You *really* need to pull codes with a reader such as the GAP tool or an advanced scan tool. But common simple fixes for the brake and suspension errors *can* be a new brake light switch, new oem taillight bulbs and a fully charged healthy battery. The check engine light is *probably* something else. What work was done recently?
1 - Need codes, but likely a substantial air leak or underperforming compressor - a leak will actually cause an underperforming compressor code. At minimum, check the dryer cap on the compressor for a crack between the two line fittings. Common crack, bit leak.
2 - Recalibrate it and see what happens. Google it, I forget the steps but its silly easy.
3 - You likely have a parking brake fault. A parking brake fault can also trip the regular "brake" fault light. The regular brake fault can also be from the pad wear sensors. The DSC light (triangle) is likely cause by the suspension issue.
Time to check for the three biggest issues, leaking "A" pillar sunroof drains pooling water in the driver or passenger side, battery issues (loose connectors, dying battery, dying alternator), and CAN communication issues (which you cannot do w/o a GAP tool).
Also, any liquid spilled around the driver or passenger seat or center console will cause issues.
