So when I did mine, long ago, I did not do them right. I actually did not know just how far the valves/solenoids can come apart. I found this video, made this year, and it is MOST excellent!
Another issue I discovered in taking my front one apart all the way was that even if rebuild I believe they can cause issues. So really there is just one sealing surface. Every o-ring in the valve block seals things up, but none of them are on a surface that moves. So really the o-rings, in theory, should not actually be the issue! The issue is this rubber pad that make contact with a plastic end/tip of the solenoid assembly. I assume like all rubber it hardens with age. And as you can see any desiccant powder in this spot will cause the sealing issue which results in leaks. The video was paramount in properly understanding these better and realizing where the issues can be. It would be cool if the small rubber contact areas were replaceable or at least the solenoid ends. Will have to research that bit.
