Compass and "bread crumbs" but it occuurs to me that I can set markers on the new nav also. I do like the compass being on the regular screens if I want.

I was able to tell where the donor vehicle lived (Kalamazoo) and where it last functioned (Troy). until it acquired the GPS signal for where I am. That took a few minutes, so if you do this mod let it go before you start asking yourself if your antenna got hooked up correctly.

Next up. heated steering wheel!

Well congrats on the install. Did you do the whole screen brightness device thing too?

And I would love a heated steering wheel. Something my BMW had and I certainly miss.

I too discovered the wonders of the heated steering wheel from my BMW, a deerly departed 525xi with heated everythings. A heated wheel isn't just for the winter as it can be very pleasant if your hands are tired or cramped. Heat does wonders, downright therepeutic!

No brightness module so far, as I haven't driven it at night or while dark enough t find it offensvie. The manual brightness control has been enough so far. And yeah I will be back in there to hook up the cameras so I might get that going at the same time.

Definitely a bit more 21st century than the standard D3 screen. When the low fuel light comes on it shows me the local gas stations.
