Thanks for the info here guys. Can someone post the ZF part numbers for the metal pan, filter, screws etc? My indy wants proof its a ZF part and see if he can source it before being willing to install it.

PS: If anyone knows a mechanic in the Bay Area who has doen this let me know, hard to get anyone to consider putting a non-LR part onto a LR, or a non-LR shop touching a LR.

Look at the various files per the link below or post #30 for the pan part numbers etc. Listed are ZF and LR part numbers plus much more than you probably ever want to know about the 6HP26.

Most of the files have at least a thousand views and I note one with more than 4,000 views so the files seem to be regarded as being of some use.

Yes, I am a few of those views, thanks for the info. However I don't see the PNs in Post#30 nor were they readily found in the pdfs.

From the interwebs / LR's Only Forum I believe the following are correct:

> Item ZF part#
> Steel pan 1068 203 042
> Gasket 1068 303 017
> Filter 0501 213 359
> Pan screws 0736 010 347 requires 21 screws

This sweet ppt from ZF themselves has some background info

Default LR numbers from the LR dealer.

I would say your numbers are correct for the metal pan changeover.

I might add that one needs the 21 shorter torx screws as given that the metal pan is thinner than the plastic pan, the metal pan screws are therefore shorter.

The 21 poly pan screws are M6 x 28.5 and for the metal pan, M6 x 22 or some length shorter than the poly pan screws.

Also the gasket for the poly pan is a large rubber O ring whereas the metal pan gasket is a flat material more like one is used to.

The ZF part number of the polyamide oilpan is 0501 215 789.

For the Land Rover part numbers, as those keep changing, I find that my best source for current part numbers is my Land Rover dealer. Take your vehicle serial number with you and just explain that you would like the part numbers for the transmission oilpan - there is no Land Rover parts number for the metal pan.

Ask if the parts number is for a kit that includes a new O ring gasket and if not, you will want that as well. The removed screws should be OK as long as you are replacing the same item.

With the poly pan, the oil filter is built in, however there is a small round gasket that seals between the top of the filter nipple and the tranny. You also need that and make certain the old one does not remain in place - that you remove it along with the filter/pan combo.

One of the pdf's shows the metal pan with the two magnets and the separate oil filter. The other pdf may be of some interest as well - good pictures within.
