LR3 Navigation Disc update?
#71
With the 2015 update DVD, I discovered another format change on the Nav display that was not evident in previous versions.
Here on the prairies, we are getting more and more of what I call French Traffic Circles - they are those smaller diameter circular road intersections with three to seven exit/entry's that are so common in France, and becoming less uncommon here in the backwoods as well.
While in the EU, five to seven exits are routine, locally it tends to be three or four exit/entry's.
For example, the first attached jpg displays the number 2 in the centre of the traffic circle symbol. That means one is to depart the circle at the second exit from where one enters. In my case, that was straight ahead so to speak, and that is what the green arrow below the circle symbol denotes.
The second jpg display that then replaces the first jpg shows the traffic circle as a bump in the road and that is what one sees as one approaches the circle.
In a normal four exit/entry circle, if one was going 3/4 of the way around, then the number 3 would display.

roundabouts
Yes, actually that is what we commonly call them as well.
The village has had over the years at least five of them at various intersections but they are of a relatively large diameter relative to these newer ones we are now seeing here.
Yes, my Nav software was older, but I do not recall ever seeing the numbers displayed as there are now. I will have to watch when I go thru one of the bigger older roundabouts but I just think the numbers do not display.
The numbers do display on the newer small ones but then again, they are recent as in the last year or so.
I appreciate you bringing the matter to my attention however. I will have to pay attention as to how the older larger roundabout display vs the smaller newer ones.
I keep seeing new to me display formats on my update disc; hence that keeps me intrigued - come to think of it, maybe I should be ashamed of myself for being so easily amused.

Giving this thread a bump. I have a genuine OEM Land Rover 2011-2012 Navi update disk available. Selling for $100 shipped if anyone wants to upgrade for half price.
I purchased this new about 2 years ago from LR for our 2006 RRS and it definitely made an improvement over the prior version.

Might there be a 2020 / 2121 disc?
The reality is that the 2015 / 2016 disc that I got from you is actually very current today for me as new roads do not get built very often - certainly not major roads. There might perhaps be a flyover whereas before it was traffic lights but that is about all the change one might see; also a two lane becomes a four lane, that sort of thing.
Just the same, I wondered if there might perhaps be a 2020 / 2021 disc? What I did notice when I did the update from the LR OEM 2005 Nav Disc to your 2015 / 2016 disc was what I will call software changes - the graphics were more modern relative to the 2005 disc, hence I figured that perhaps a 20/21 disc might have even more current graphics, even if there are not much in the order of road updates.
