Default lr3 P0501-00 (2E) Vehicle speed sensor A range/performance, transmission will not eng

Please help! lr3 P0501-00 (2E) Vehicle speed sensor A range/performance, transmission will not engage! I have done everything I can think of. All sensors seam to be working correctly according to Gap tool. Visually inspected, cleaned, replaced wheel hub. Gap doesn’t know what to do & neither do I.. please advise!

So to be clear, this is the ONLY code you are getting? Did you clear the code? How fast does it come back? Did you manually override the transmission into neutral?

Yes I’ve cleared the codes and it comes back after a short period. If I disconnect the battery for an hour or so. I can get back in & it will drive approximately 20” & the p0501 kicks in & disengage’s the transmission. I attempt to clear it out but the trans remains disengaged.

Damn.... um, not even sure where to start. Clear ALL codes, make sure those are all fresh. Unless you did already? (I bet you did). I have seen train wrecks with less issues. You either have a system wide power/ground issue, a loose CJB connector, or some major corrosion issues in the engine bay on the ECU. So in short, I would guess you have more than a speed sensor issue.

These are after clearing & before p0501 pops up again!

Nothing dramatic there. The B1C57 sounds scary, but normally it is not a huge issue. Obviously lamp issue is not big deal. A bit worried about the ride level issue, that may be a real issue but again that can come up for no real reason. Another "ghost code", codes that LR3s love to generate for not real reason.

I would drive it while reading the live valves of all four wheel sensors. At this moment, those do seem to be the issue, well one of them at least.

I can’t drive it, the transmission won’t engage.. That’s the issue.. It will drive for a few yards and as soon as the p0501 code arises, the trans cuts out. Also, I have the suspension fuse out from the engine bay because a hose blew yesterday

Then how do you know all the wheel sensors are working correctly?

I only know that they read correctly at short distance and slow speed. I removed each of them & the ecu, cleaned and inspected them & everything looks good.
