Default LR3 parking brake light

The parking break works fine, no issues mechanically but the light will not turn off. GAP shows no faults and running though GAP diagnostics like un-jamming, etc. All work fine too. The light will not go out though. Thoughts?

Something in the switch is closing the circuit to the warning light regardless of position?

Do you have a spare switch you can swap?

We already did that. The original switch was dead so we pulled a known good switch from a wrecked LR3.

Maybe a short elsewhere?
also might be what killed the original switch?

I doubt it, the light is not at all connected to the parking break system. Its an isolated fault light, hence the confusion.

Hey DakotaTravler.

I have a 2006 LR3 SE, and the same thing happened to me about a year ago. For me, the light was indicating that I needed new brake pads. The vehicle does have brake pad wear sensors, maybe one went bad.

Hope this helps.
