Default LR3 petro vacuum pump (for brakes)

Anyone every have issues with this thing? My brakes at times always seemed a bit stiffer. Never knew for sure what that pump was until one day I finally read about it. Direct power to the pump shows its working. Even sprayed some silicone inside and it shot it out just fine. Fuse it good. But it never seems to power up. There is not a ton of info, but one item it should always come up apparently is with a cold engine. It does not run all the time. The ECU directly controls it but there is no monitoring, so if its not working there is no code. I hooked up a meter on a cold start, nothing. I've even pulled the vacuum line to it to see if there was a change in braking behavior. Nope. I suppose I should do more testing but at this point it seems to not be working. Curious if other ever looked into this bugger.

Fixed! Was a bad wire. Enough to read voltage on but barely connected so that it could not pump through enough amperage to run the dang thing.

I know this was a long time ago, but I have same issue, can you explain more how you fixed it please? Which wire was bad?

Thanks

Adam
