Default LR3 replacement key, any rechargeable?

There are like 1,000 key threads. I thought one mentioned there was a seller with a key that was priced decent AND worked with the rechargeable induction circuit in the column. Can't find it. Also sellers come and go.

So... is there an aftermarket option for replacement keys that have a working rechargeable circuit? I use my remote far too much to have a regular battery, its not an option. If I have to go dealer I guess I will.

An option if you can't find a new board with the charging circuitry...

I found this service a while back. I have a couple OEM fobs if you're interested. (not reflashed or wiped)

Do a google search for LR3 remote battery replacement. Hardest part is to remove the old case, but it is easy to do if you can solder. I did this on my old 2005 and it worked fine for 3 more years till I sold it.

The cheap key I bought on eBay for ~$14 was indeed rechargeable
Even had a Panasonic battery installed

Unfortunately, this exact item is no longer available from this seller - but I am sure there are others out there!
Maybe this one? Panasonic and charging magnet seen in pics.

@rovers3 - I know how to change the battery, I have done it before. What I need is a second key to program and I would like it to be rechargeable. I will alternate usage between keys.

@douglastic - Let me know. Seems many come with that battery but lack the circuitry for recharging. So unless its known that they are rechargeable I have to assume they are not.

@DakotaTravler

Update: got the new key and opened it up. first impressions:
- battery is generic, but stamped "rechargeable" with visible charging magnet
- no battery cradle like previous (or OEM)
- overall nicer case than the previous key from same seller

Is there any way for me to easily test or prove the rechargeable function?
My wife has the LR3 out today, so will code tonight and will report back if coding failed - otherwise assume all was good.

First pair of pics are of new key, second pair are the previous one that died.

Thanks very much for the update, bought one just not to try out also. If good I may get a couple more backups to keep around and unprogramed.

You bet.

I had also though about a backup . . .
What do you think the "usable life" is left of the battery, if it sits around unused for a year or 2?

I alternate usage of my keys to keep them charged, should get an induction charger for home use.
