Default LR3 Roof Racks

Just purchased a 2008 LR3 and no very a little about Land Rovers.

I am trying to get ready for camping season and camp both with a 21 ft hybrid travel trailer and tent camping. Also, take a few overnight kayak trips and looking to purchase a 9ft blowup style pontoon boat.

I currently do not have a roof rack and need some advise on what I should purchase. Seems to be a few options.

I also need a solution for carrying firewood but loading on top of the vehicle probably not the best solution.

Finally, I am also considering adding some hella style lights but not positive at this point.

Thanks in advance.

You seriously need to pack firewood? Can't you just gather it when you get to your campsite? That's what we've always done...

Yes.

Obviously depends on where we are camping; however, I would say that 9/10 times no wood to be found.

If I am tent camping normally in more remote places there is a chance.

Not sure where you are located or camp but not common where I go to find wood.

Thanks.

I have a rack from voyager racks along with their ladder. Great rack. Throw some chicken coop flooring on top from farmtek and you're good to go. It has removable rails for a roof top tent and mounting plates/holes for lights. 4 in the front one in the back.

Dirt Roamer, checked the racks out on voyager web site.

Just curious which one you have, standard, low profile?

Also, I have read posts about noise. Comments?

Do you have pics.

Thanks.

I bought the standard. Wish they would've had the off road challenge rack when I bought mine. Could've saved me a light.....There is more noise, but not too bad.

Only close up I have right now

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Anything that is comparable for less? Not that I am looking for something cheap just curious.

Thanks.

I like the factory land rover expo rack (probably discontinued). Its low profile and made of aluminum. I found one craigslist for $450, but took a couple years of looking.

You can also easily chop the top section off for a very clean look.

I like the prospeed rack the best, but I don't think its available in the US yet.

The baja rack for the LR3 is one of my favorite.

I guess it depends where you are going camping. If out of State I heard you shouldn't bring firewood due to cross contaminating wood disease or something like that. In State I agree with houm wa, just go scrounging around or bring a couple of dura logs. At certain State parks they don't allow you to even use the dead wood lying around.
