Default LR3 Towing Question

New to forums and have a trailering question. I'm thinking of buying an enclosed snowmobile trailer and question the maximum size trailer I can easily tow behind my '05 LR3 HSE. My thoughts;a 16'-17' long double axle v nose is about all I can handle, not so much due to the weight, but at altitude and gusty winds here in New Mexico, anything longer will morph into a sail! Add in a shortish wheel base on the rover and about 2800 lbs. of cargo, plus the weight of the trailer, and twisting roads, and I'm thinkin' that's about maximum, subject to the proper tongue weight, etc. I'd also value input on the proper width trailer to consider; having thetrailer tracks more closely matchingthe tow vehicle's wheel width. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Default RE: LR3 Towing Question

well, i have a 2007 LR3, i added trailer braked and have a 18ft dual axel car hauler, trailer alone weights about 3000lbs. i load 4 Polaris 800 4 wheelers on it and have not problem. each 4 wheeler weights about 700lbs. i am not in much altitude in Oklahoma however the LR3 did great. hope this helps. i would definitely get the trailer brakes.

have a good one...
