Just dropping in here with a quick question. Im working on a car with amplifier troubles. Everything works but no sound. I suspect it is the amplifier problem, as everything else checks out fine and there was prior repair attempt and water damage on the amplifier.

so the question is - does the part number have to match the original one on the car, or it can be replaced with later unit ?
original is: xqk500085, which according to parts catalog was superseded by xqk500220, and later lr024797. cannot seem to find anyone selling *85 unit.
