Default Mechanic can't do alignment because of 'frame damage'

Hello - I brought my 08 LR3 into my mechanic for a standard oil change and wheel alignment and I got a call back today saying that "the mechanic can't do the alignment because there is frame damage."

Now the person who I spoke to couldn't give me details and they said they'll call me back tomorrow, but could someone explain to me how this could be the case/what might be happening? I don't know much about cars but obviously this sounds like a very significant problem, no?

Thank you in advance

Could be anything from corrosion to bent chassis or broken mounts, best to wait for their call or go in and ask them to show you.

You lack info, we lack even more. Have them show you because we really can't help unless we know more.

Could be that the alignment tabs (which are formed into the frame) have worn out. That has happened to my 2005. Next time I need an alignment, I'm gonna have to have new tabs welded on by a body shop. Heck, I may have to do that next spring even prior to an alignment since I have a good shop lined up. Who knows if they will be around by the time I actually need an alignment since I only put about 1500 miles a year on that vehicle.

I agree with houm_wa, it could be those tabs. I just ran into this issue on mine and did the weld fix--sounded a lot harder than it actually was. Get more info from the shop and ideally have them show you what they mean.
