06 LR3 had it serviced a couple of times at Expedition Auto but not quite sure of these guys. Anyone have a trustworthy mechanic or shop they take their Land Rover for repairs and service? thanks

last time i visited they gave me an estimate for a bunch of service work which totaled around $2k, when i questioned it, they said none of it needed to be done right away and i could put it off for awhile. just got me thinking that it didnt make much sense to present an estimate on something i didnt need to do for sometime

Ah, so not totally horrible.

Sorry I dont have any first hand experience as I have a D1 and thus do all the work myself.

Googling shows that Alexanders Imports, DJs Foreign Auto Care, and Imola Motorsports have some good reviews

Try Top Gear Automotive (612.724.8901). I'm new to LR3 ownership (2006 SE), but I have had the truck in several times for fluid changes and I think they're honest and really know what they're doing. They aren't cheap, but their labor rate and parts prices are better than most, and certainly better than the dealer.

Can't say I'm impressed with this guy now that I know that, but on the other hand, I always wait for my car.
I will be rethinking giving my business to this shop. Not much in the Mpls. metro that I have found other than the stealer...er dealer, and they charge criminal prices!
