Default My lights are flashing when i walk up to my LR3

Hello, my security system is being quite wonkey. When i walk up to my car the lights on the outside start flashing even if i do not press the lock or unlock. Additionally my security system randomly honks and when i get in the car it also randomly locks the doors, furthermore the lock button also randomly stops working. Any idea's i looked and could not find anything about the lights flashing when i walk up to the car.

One thing I'd check is your hood switch, it's on the bottom of the hood latch on the passenger side. If it is still hooked up I would disconnect it and jump the pins on the harness side. This bypasses this sensor and could help with some of your issues. This fixed the alarm randomly going off on my first LR3 and it was already bypassed on my current LR3 when I got it. I would also recommend getting your battery tested, these vehicles are really voltage sensitive so if you don't have good voltage all time it will cause all sorts of random issues.

There is no sensor in the fob to activate anything on a D3 so is it always flashing and you only notice it when walking towards it ?

I was also going to mention the hood. Turned out I'd left mine slightly open the other day, and the alarm was going off randomly. I was like "Seriously Land Rover gods? Random alarms now is it?" Shut the 'ol bonnet firmly and problem went away.
