Hi.
I purchased a LR3 two weeks ago, 2006 4.0 V6 Base model.
Looks good outside, feels good but some not so good items. First, has a hidden oil leak.
Well, maybe is power steering fluid. Although the truck has an engine oil drop; the PS canister loose some fluid in a weekly basis.
In addition, I got 3 warning lights: TPMS, Check Engine and airbag. Check Engine was P0441 and P0174. A Mass Airflow Sensor and harness replacement erase the check engine.
For ABS, pass owner (that now I don't trust anything) said the he try to replace the steering wheel but stopped. I assume the clockspring is damaged. B0001-1B (Driver frontal Stage 1 - deployment control) and B002A-1B (Right curtain deployment control 2) are permanent. Cant be erased.
For TPMS I got C1A56-93, C1A58-93, C1A60-93, C1A62-93, C1A58-31, C1A60-31, C1A62-31, C1A56-31... Maybe main TPMS controller damaged? Those are intermittent.
I'm using Autel MD808 Pro scanner. Thinking about GAP Tool vs icarsoft CR Max. Can CR MAX turn off the TPMS?
I also got multiple lost communication historic and intermittent codes (eg. U0122-87, U0402-94, C1A00-88) and Others (B1B02-28, B1BA0-66, B1C57-14). Previous owner also install a lot of blue ugly led lights, all getting codes (Eg. B1D06-15, B1D07-15, B1D12-12...) For AC, also codes for almost all stepper actuators.
Current tire size is 275/65/18 thinking about go to 265/65/18 to avoid any issues in case air suspension failure (Can CR MAX set the suspension limits like the GAP tool?)
Inside im thinking about upgrade the radio (apple carplay), adding the automatic light switch with the rain sensor and the HSE steering wheel to control de radio volume.
You only need the switch pack to get wheel audio controls, don't need to swap the whole wheel - its plug and play.
That light switch isnt factory, for the factory fog lights you just pull out on the light switch dial when in the park or full beam position.
265/65/18 is a much better size for general use.

The #2 light switch is the factory setup for the grille mounted lights - the big round ones from Land Rover. Sometimes mounted on the bull bar if you have one. If not, they were removed and the switched stayed.
Yeah, have to guess they were removed. The switch is part of the aux light kit. Unless previous owner installed just the switch with plans to put the expensive lights in. Either way, it could be a handy setup if you add your own lights at least!
I guess those grille lights were not popular in Aus as i have never seen a vehicle with it fitted, for that matter the nudge bar wasn't either as most people drove down to ARB and had a bullbar and spotlights fitted.
